I did a little mistake at Turn One

Actually, you didn’t. You made a little mistake at Turn One.

Don’t get me wrong. Most F1 drivers speak excellent English (better than many English people, in fact) and I applaud their language skills. It’s just this one small error that so often causes me to yell at the TV.

Take Charles Leclerc, for example, who was rightly miffed after Ferrari messed up his strategy at the Monaco grand prix two weeks ago. After the race, he explained clearly and at great length what he thought had gone wrong. And then, he ruins it all at the end. “We cannot lose so many points like this. It’s not even from first to second, it is from first to fourth, because after the first mistake we did another one”.
